phat tuesday

It's been an interesting day...

I have an opportunity to advance my (so far) nonexistent career in dietetics, and in order to reach this tiny goal, I took a drug test this morning along with a physical. Easy as a Swedish baker's pronunciation of pie. Call me if you get that joke!

I worked a little bit today, just to cover lunches. I did a tiny tiny elliptical workout when I got home, but it's just too damn hot in my corner! I had some leftovers for dinner, and now I'm working on some bread in the machine. I don't think it's going to turn out well because it doesn't look good at all.

On a lighter note: ROOT BEER FLOAT!! Call me if you get that joke, too.

monday, monday

I started off with the best of intentions! I brought my workout clothes to the bank, but my partner in crime wasn't feeling too well. Also, once again, it was unbearably humid and not conducive to a VERY inexperienced runner. I ended up going home and cooking dinner. Tasty, tasty dinner. Pork chops with honey mustard (homemade, thank you very much) with sweet potato fries (herb seasoned and baked) and a steamer bag of broccoli. My new favorite thing: broccoli with honey mustard. Try it!!

day three! ah ah ah

Day Three: August 5, 2010

Scheduling and weather were not conducive to a team workout today. There was a heat advisory, agility class to attend, a severe thunderstorm, and my dad's birthday all going on. Luckily, I didn't have to go into work until three (thanks to a doctor's appointment in the morning) and I did the same workout on my elliptical at home. This time, I made it through ALL the "running" portions!! It's amazing how stamina increases in such a short time.

fitter. happier. more productive.

Day Two: August 3, 2010:
One more running lap than day one!!! So, a 5min warm-up, 60sec run, 90sec walk, run 60, walk 90, run 60, walk 90, RUN 60!!, walked the rest. Put a load of laundry in the wash, loaded the dishwasher, ate leftover chili and potatoes from last night. Tomorrow is an off day - I work late and then it's on to trivia. Back to the grind on thursday after dog agility class with my Ursa!

c25k.

My best friend and I just began the Couch to 5k Running Plan!

Day One: August 2, 2010:
I made it through the warm-up walk (5min), the first run (60sec), the first walk (90sec), the second run (60sec), the second walk (90sec), and the third run (60sec). I walked the rest of the way. But I SURVIVED!! Then went grocery shopping, then home to make dinner. Totally tired out after just a 20min workout, but I feel great.

the viscosity of time.

I'm not around that much, running
exhausted and lost...

Time just moves incredibly slowly during the semester and flies during breaks. I'm less than a month away from the fall semester, and it feels like my spring classes just ended.

*sigh*

I really can't complain, though. I finished the spring with one B, and all the rest I got an A in. I took A&P over the summer and survived with a B. I've been working close to full-time at the bank, and will celebrate reach my sixth year there at the end of August. Yowza.

On a lighter (ha ha, hopefully) note: I'm starting the Couch to 5k program and i'm psyched!!
